"I keep sailing on in this middle passage. I am sailing into the wind and the dark. But I am doing my best to keep my boat steady and my sails full." — Arthur Ashe
Positive people are resilient people, and the most resilient people are those who develop high value relationships. If you or someone you know needs more positivity then take action today by starting a conversation with me.
This is our third installment of our 4-week series on DISC Discoveries. On week 1 we discussed the Dominant style, on week 2, we discussed the Influencing style, and this week the Magic Word is Steady.
This behavior style is the most prevalent—being made up of about 69% of the population—and is a more reserved style that has a focus on people and relationships.
To better understand the Steady behavior style it's important to note that they're largely motivated by the fear of losing stability and security, which is why they also fear confrontation...because it could contains the threat of losing security!
"S" people are great to have around because they are great team players who are excellent in followthrough (because to be otherwise they might risk a confrontation that leads to losing security!) So when you find a Steady person, help them to let their gold shine by being relaxed and friendly with them. In fact, as smile will go a long way with them. If you do, you'll find that their best selves will shine through to benefit everyone!
